To those who actually read my entries, I apologize for my long absence.  It's not been fun.  I am, however, trying to work myself out of the hole I've been in.

In big news, I'm rehabbing a house.  I want to be sleeping there by the end of the week, completely moved in by the end of the month.  The place is an absolute wreck, having been (officially) vacant for at least four years, but I have plans for it.  Give me five to seven years, and it will be fit to grace the cover of The Architectural Journal.  Interested parties may wish to view a photo journal of my progress.  Tune in to

I will say that, as bad as things have been lately, I feel best when I'm working.  I suppose that I'll have to pull a Sarah Winchester.

You got a house. Holy cats, you got a house. Believe it or not I've seen people start with worse.

All you need is 1 room clean enough to put your stuff in and enough electric to keep from freezing to death to move.

I once moved into a place that had cold running water turned on and no electric for 4 more days in the middle of summer. In the summer its camping. In the winter, it sucks.

I wish you lived here so I could could help you shovel the crap off the floor or something. And paint the amazing purple room with gang sign. Don't forget primer. Otherwise you will never cover that stuff.

The previous owner of this house painted the entire interior almond. One bedroom had been painted pine green and you can still tell at some angles, which is why I'm positive you will need primer.

I learned enough drywalling off the internets to make an entire 3 foot wide wall with a little help from my friends.

I don't know crap about wiring, so Matt had to re-do the electric switches.

We're hoping by January to be able to get floor tile and a bigger vanity for in there because the vanity that's in there is exactly big enough to hold the sink and therefore, we no actual place to keep the clean towels and other things so we keep them in milk crates.

I swear I will start taking 'before' shots. Really.

And your stuff can be piled sky high in a corner and covered in painter plastic to protect it from construction dust. Not like you have to actually spread it out and use it yet. Amirite?

You got a house. Damn girl, a house. That's fine.

You won't fail. You know the cost of doing this is amazing, but you seem to have a grip on it so far. You've already done drywall and electric. Plumbing is easy, I do that.

It will just take ages, is all.

It's lovely to hear from you. I liked looking around your house-in-progress. I can see that it will be great when you're done, but right now it's giving me this face: O.o

I'll be honest, I think the purple is a lovely colour, but not so sure it's a lovely colour for vast swaths of wall.

Okay, headache + thoughtful and in depth comment is not working out well. That's all I've got.
